I actually visited the Universal Studio in 2 continuous days, the night of its launching for a preview and fireworks since it was opened to public, and the second day of the soft opening for the real visit. The former was with Erin, JC, Bee and Soo. Latter was only with Soo.
Enjoy loading.
p/s: This post may contain spoilers if you've yet to visit, so stop reading from here itself. Kindly pardon the many pictures which I'm appearing in too.
Welcome to Universal Studio Singapore! With the babes. Erin, Jye Chi and Chuan Bee.
Idling while waiting for the fireworks to start.
Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Bee darling.
After the long wait, my stomach was growling. Biting the yummy cheesy nachos bread!
The best of the night castle view I could capture.
The best of the 5 mins fireworks I could capture. We were almost at the front but our views were blocked by a block of tree. :(
Leaving USS, while waiting for the bus to come.
Casino @ Resort World Sentosa
Alright, and our journey began here itself. The tickets that costed $66, inclusive of a $10 voucher for food and beverage and $5 rebate voucher for souvenirs. That stretch of buildings behind us is part of the Hollywood theme.
The first store right after the entrance and just before the exit. Largest souvenir store, I think.
With Soo, my traveling partner. It was awesome to have her around cuz we could go vain together.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is oh-so-pretty!!
Couldn't resist but to take a snap at every stop.
Bakery, selling all sorts of lovely pastries, scones, cakes and desserts.
SHhREeeeKKK!!!
They named this 'The Darkroom', for camera and photo services. Really cool. My camera was left with only 2 bars of power supply. I went into this store and asked if I could have the battery charged if it does go flat. They hesitated for a little while until the person in-charge nodded with a wink, 'Just for you!' Totally friendly.
Little Miss Bo-Peep!
This is a Chinese restaurant we wanted to drop by for lunch but ended up at another.
Vintage
The cool thing about this place is that every building is put into good purpose. And I look 9 months pregnant here. :(
STOPPP!!!!
Top hat.
Soldiers. Wanted to get one of these head gears, but too costly. Like $50+?
I love it when they allow photography in the souvenir store. Happy Birthday to you, if yours it near! Love from me to you!
The Monster Rock Show is showed in this theater. It's a musical drama with really good dancers.
Reading the map.
Back alley.
Day dreaming........
Just another picture before we watched the Kowabunga show.
Kowabunga Kove.
Hawaian dance show. Be particular about the timings for all the shows if you're there. You may not want to miss any of the good shows.
The roller coaster ride I missed. Couldn't embrace enough courage to sit, like really. But I do regret it now.
Next, WELCOME TO MADAGASCAR!
Marty the zebra, Alex the lion, Gloria the hippopotamus, Melman the anthropormorphic giraffe
Grape slurpee from Snack Shack, $3.80
We love Madagascar!
My pink condom umbrella. That what Soo called it cuz it has a half-cap to put on like a condom.
The crews are very friendly people. My day was partly lighted by their smile.
King Julien XIII. He's a ring-tailed lemur that ruled a great colony of lemur in Madagascar.
Playing the carousel like a kid. A merry time going around.
At the souvenir shop of Madagascar theme.
The Madagascar characters shake show.
Penguins. We were laughing non stop at their shakes. Too adorable.
Kowalski the tallest penguin and Skipper the leader.
Hippo, me likey!
King Julien. Cutenesssss.
Leaving Madagascar and proceeding to Far Far Away. Now it gets dreamy.
Shrek and the Princess Fiona who looks exactly like in the animation.
Lunch at Friar's. I ordered a set of chicken teri wrap that was served with fries and a fizzy drink. Only at $8.80. Now I think it's pretty cheap to dine in there.
Shrek 4D castle.
Crown.
Far Far Away theme. The best from this theme is the ongoing 4D show, in-your-face fairy tale adventure through the miracle of OgreVision. There was a motion where our feet were tickled seriously freaked me out.
Smooches the frog. Muackkxx! Hoping to turn into a princess and stay there forever.
In the castle. Doorway to 4-D adventure.
While waiting. The queues weren't long for most of the rides. Maximum time we had to wait was 10 mins.
An introduction to the mission before entering the main theater.
After show. There was a down pour and we were stuck at the souvenir store.
Hidden behind us was a mini ferris wheel for kids. My face is just as round as Shrek now :(
Push cart. Pardon the messy look. I was all drenched after one of the rides at Jurassic Park.
Trying to imitate.
Buildings at Far Far Away.
Walk, walk, walk, walk. We walked more than 13k steps that days according to the calculator on the phone. The reason to why my muscles are aching still.
Riding on a cart.
=D
'Why this love always feel like a battlefield, a battlefield, a battlefield?'
Candy house.
The workers are friendly and courteous like that, this guy allowed me in.
Enchanted Airways. A junior roller coaster ride.
After the ride.
I love this world of fairytale.
Donkey Live. Shrek's fairytale sidekick Donkey interacting in an all new interactive live show where guests can sing along and talk with the Donkey in an intimate theatre setting.
Posters.
The end of Far Far Away. A land which showcases the lifestyles of the rich and fairy taled.
Next, The Lost World.
Fossil.
Wendy ♥ Dino-Fossil
Sheltering ourselves from the rain and we were half drenched. My condom umbrella is not enough to shelter us.
Gong for Jurassic Rapids Adventure.
Featuring a white water raft system, thrills seekers on circular raft will be tossed on waterways within the Jurassic compound, where prehistoric creatures roam free.
Totally soaked. Fell directly backwards from the strong waves. Moral of the story, don't wear white and bring extra clothings to change.
Sighs. Forgive the transparency.
Hatching from dino eggs.
Me lurvey the lost world.
Flying Pteranodon. Coaster glides over tree-tops.
On our way to Water World.
Based on the blockbuster film, Water World, a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, awesome explosions and thrills here
Ancient Egypt. Of ancient pyramids, obelisks stand fast against the sand of time, the 1930's Egypt, Golden Age of Egyptian Exploration.
Egyptian sculptures.
Revenge of the Mummy. An indoor roller coaster ride within the pyramid.
Before entering, we thought it was some kind of kids ride. All excited. We were asked to keep all our belongings in the lockers. I was shocked to see the warnings written after we entered. It was actually a highs-speed psychological thrill ride through sharp turn, full rotation, fast reverse and falls with sudden acceleration. The day before, Bee and Erin were telling me that it's a must to take this ride and it's really fun. Boy, I got abso nervous after reading that. Yeah, I'm someone who's afraid of such thrill rides.
The mission! We had to walk through a maze before reaching the ride.
The starting part, we were brought to a chamber with laser show, where we fought against fiery fireballs, and then the flesh-eating scarab beetles crawled out. The next thing I realized was we were sucked backward with a downward fall that screamed the hell out of me. I can't remember what happened after. But there were basically many chamber whereby the gates will open with sudden acceleration and downward motion of the coaster. I was yelling without inhibition until a point I called out, 'Wo bu yao wan liao!!!'. And Soo replied, 'Eh, mei you liao..'
Sculpture again. The Treasure Hunt Ride we didn't play.
Souvenir shop @ Ancient Egypt
Sci-Fi. Where the Batthestar Galactica (Human Cyclon) and Accelerator are located. Due to my reluctance for the corkscrew, we tried only the Accelerator. Limited pictures from this theme cuz my battery went flat. So I had to take it with the handphone.
New York City. Our last theme to accomplish.
Looking all exhausted after a full day of pure joy.
Vintage Car @ Hollywood
Pizza restaurant.
Just before we left, we managed to catch the last show. Lights, Camera, Action: Hosted by Steven Spielberg.
In the theatre. This is simulated show by the filmmakers incredible special effects as an empty sound stage becomes the setting for a major hurricane about to hit New York City.
