The Proposal

One of the most memorable moments in my life happened just a couple of days ago. 5th of July 2014 - a day I never would have imagined it to be remarkably significant in this slow pace and phase of life, yet my other half had brought it down to reality. A memory so precious I could play and replay in my limbic system. That evening at Breeze Samanya Resort was rather planned by him. I was told that we'll go for a date there in Bali. Oh we were actually choosing between Rock Bar and Breeze Samanya and lastly settled our minds for the latter as I googled for pictures of Rock Bar and thought the sea-view to be pretty similar as that at Tanah Lot and I don't like the idea of having crowd when all we wanted was some quiet time together. Obviously I did not suspect anything eventful to come that night as surprises weren't something that would happen routinely in this relationship but whenever that happened, it could literally make my heart flutter. I donned on a casual dress as usual without much make up. Just some light curls on the hair (even that was done by Gary's mom when she saw me so underdressed for the occasion). Well, the whole family including mine, knew about the plan. So all of them acted dumb that day and kept asking where we were going.
Here's a picture of us at the villa before heading out. I insisted that we stand still and not being cuddly just so that this photo will turn out oldfangled when I edit.

We got our driver to bring us there. So there we were by the beach for a proper dining. Ambience was as expected - romantic, breezy, relaxing and filled with laughters. The only thing that was out of norm was Gary was busy taking videos of our conversations. He's been doing that since morning and hence I did not suspect anything. Food there was really good and highly recommended. Just that it was a little pricey. We had the best of our lives enjoying that moment. On further questioning, he booked the table a couple of weeks before. His initial intention was to have a private table for us, isolated from the others, however the restaurant couldn't do that, so we were there for just a meal.
We headed back home after dinner. I took a quick nap in the car as I was feeling a tad tired post prandial. Upon reaching the villa, Gary woke me up and told me to get down the car. 'BB, close your eyes and follow the light'  It started to sound fishy from this point onwards but I did as he told me. I was led by the light to this pool of heart shaped rose petals and candles. Guess I don't need to explain how flabbergasted I was at that moment. Simply out of expectation and words.
The Little Red Book - tears steeamed down my face as I read through the many pages of this self composed proposal book. It was that split second when I realized no one else makes me happier than he does. That juncture when he pops the question and you know you can't wait to say 'yes!' That night was magical! Almost like a dream I'd always dreamt of, but this time, it was real.
I can't thank God more for giving such a loving partner who's there for me whenever I needed him. Someone who's always there to cheer me up when I'm down, share my joy when I'm happy and give the warmest hug when I cry.
