Pre Wedding Photoshoot

Gary and I did our prewedding photoshoot session with Monokara, a local studio located in Batu Pahat about a year ago. Hunting for an affordable yet skillful photographer wasn't at all easy. We'd browsed online and visited several studios door to door before deciding on Monokara, and we were pleased with their service and end product. The shooting session was indeed tiring but we had fun cuz the photographer and his team guided us through the whole process professionally. We had a total of 5 different styles (4 gowns/suits + 1 casual wear). Here are some photos we'd chosen.

Style-1
Picking this dress was absolutely impromptu and last-minute on the day of photoshoot. Earlier on I picked a white dress with cheongsam neckline but my stylist suggested this instead. I wouldn't say it fitted me well as I literally had to squeeze myself into this dress and no pun intended, I could hardly sit straight up wearing this.

Style-2
Chose the same veil for our wedding day!

Style-3
We went to a nearby village for our outdoor shooting and big teddy was the first soft toy Gary'd gotten me.

Style-4
Taken outside someone else's house who has such kinda brick walls and an abandoned wooden house. Who would have thought that these spots could be great for picture?

Style-5
Absolutely love this dress. We chose this dress for a Christmassy picture but we couldn't get a better backdrop, so we ended up with some fun filled pictures.

Lastly, my mom was there to help us carry our stuff. Thanks mommy!

The Proposal

One of the most memorable moments in my life happened just a couple of days ago. 5th of July 2014 - a day I never would have imagined it to be remarkably significant in this slow pace and phase of life, yet my other half had brought it down to reality. A memory so precious I could play and replay in my limbic system. That evening at Breeze Samanya Resort was rather planned by him. I was told that we'll go for a date there in Bali. Oh we were actually choosing between Rock Bar and Breeze Samanya and lastly settled our minds for the latter as I googled for pictures of Rock Bar and thought the sea-view to be pretty similar as that at Tanah Lot and I don't like the idea of having crowd when all we wanted was some quiet time together. Obviously I did not suspect anything eventful to come that night as surprises weren't something that would happen routinely in this relationship but whenever that happened, it could literally make my heart flutter. I donned on a casual dress as usual without much make up. Just some light curls on the hair (even that was done by Gary's mom when she saw me so underdressed for the occasion). Well, the whole family including mine, knew about the plan. So all of them acted dumb that day and kept asking where we were going.
Here's a picture of us at the villa before heading out. I insisted that we stand still and not being cuddly just so that this photo will turn out oldfangled when I edit.

We got our driver to bring us there. So there we were by the beach for a proper dining. Ambience was as expected - romantic, breezy, relaxing and filled with laughters. The only thing that was out of norm was Gary was busy taking videos of our conversations. He's been doing that since morning and hence I did not suspect anything. Food there was really good and highly recommended. Just that it was a little pricey. We had the best of our lives enjoying that moment. On further questioning, he booked the table a couple of weeks before. His initial intention was to have a private table for us, isolated from the others, however the restaurant couldn't do that, so we were there for just a meal.
We headed back home after dinner. I took a quick nap in the car as I was feeling a tad tired post prandial. Upon reaching the villa, Gary woke me up and told me to get down the car. 'BB, close your eyes and follow the light'  It started to sound fishy from this point onwards but I did as he told me. I was led by the light to this pool of heart shaped rose petals and candles. Guess I don't need to explain how flabbergasted I was at that moment. Simply out of expectation and words.
The Little Red Book - tears steeamed down my face as I read through the many pages of this self composed proposal book. It was that split second when I realized no one else makes me happier than he does. That juncture when he pops the question and you know you can't wait to say 'yes!' That night was magical! Almost like a dream I'd always dreamt of, but this time, it was real.
I can't thank God more for giving such a loving partner who's there for me whenever I needed him. Someone who's always there to cheer me up when I'm down, share my joy when I'm happy and give the warmest hug when I cry.

Times when I feel much loved

Oncall can be so tiring when your call is bad with lots of admissions and emergencies. But, I'm so thankful that the bf always tries to accompany me, most of the time when I'm oncall (as I've always wheedled to want him around). So much of joy to see him waiting at the oncall room every time I entered. At least, I don't feel so bored when I'm all alone.

Jalan jalan cari cafe

A fruitful weekend. Met up with my awesome other half, Mei Cher yesterday. All worth the tiring drive to Malacca when I was post call. It was a good catch up. We had chicken rice and multiple tea breaks. A very much needed half day trip indeed. Baboon house and Halia inc were 2 nice cafés where we lazed the whole afternoon away. So glad to have a good buddy who knows me so well. 14 years of friendship and counting!

MH370

I always this almighty feeling whenever I'm on a plane and it takes off. Like, 'Wow, how can anyone discover this mode of transport? How does it even work to carry this huge vessel that weighs tonnes?' Yeah, that explains why I never ace my physics during spm. Just as bad as I can't understand the Bernoulli's principle. I've never had this thought that the plane which I am on might crash and I don't usually feel anything when I hear about someone else's death unless it involves someone whom I was close to. I'm dealing with deaths so often in the hospital that I stopped feeling compassionate about it. My job is hazardous I know. But somehow, I'm feeling sad after knowing MH370 crashed. Weird.

Jan and Feb

I get some time to blog now cuz I'm doing locum at a clinic with very few patients. Just to pass time else I'm too jobless.

I like what I'm doing now. My job. I have a bunch of wonderful colleagues whom I'm comfortable working with. They're helpful and not selfish basically. Working environment is quite stress free unless when I'm oncall or get stuck with severe dengue. Wait, it's still as busy as before but when everyone does things together, it becomes fun. So yeah, I'm thankful to be here.

A quick summary of all that has happened in Jan and Feb. This post will be loaded with pictures, so bear with me.

In early Jan was Jasmine and Ron's wed. Congratz to the lovely couple. It was indeed a beautiful wedding. Jasmine was looking really gorgeous that day. One of the loveliest wedding I'd ever attended.

In mid Jan, I celebrated my birthday with Le familia. Mine and Gary's. Papa, mama and didi came all the way to Segamat to surprise me. Then it was a simple dine out in Kluang with Eilyn, Heng, aunt Yvonne, uncle Douglas and the children. Thank you everyone for the many lovely gifts. I'm a year older. So old that I lost count of my age. I face this problem since 2 years ago. I can't differentiate whether I'm 26? Or 27? Haha

Then came CNY. A time of meeting up with relatives and friends. Gary and myself took a long leave to rest. Joke of the year was we went back to work a day earlier only to realize we were still on leave. -.-

Next in Early feb, the dept had an outing to A'Famosa. We rented a villa there. Played at the waterworld and drove all the way to Alai for seafood. It was tiring as I was postcall that day and the following day, Gary and I had to rush back cuz he was oncall. We enjoyed ourselves nevertheless. This is the group of awesome people whom I've been talking about.

Mid Feb was Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year. Well, the bf and I celebrated ours with his family. Yeah, after 2 years of courtship, we aren't that fond of dating time with just the two of us since we've been seeing each other daily now. We made a trip to USS again! I promised Valerie to bring her there a couple of months ago if she does well in her exams. And yeah, she did it! It became a one-day family trip to USS in the end. We had so much fun and with proper planning this time, we completed all the rides and shows in a day.

Time to slog hard and earn back some money after so many happening weekends. Till then.
