It's RED for Christmas!

This week has been way too busy for me. To summarize what I had from Monday to Friday, I'm currently posted to the medicine department in Muar. Sleeping at 1am and having to wake up 6am hadn't been easy at all. I left home at 6.45am and returned at 6pm. In addition to this, the 2 hours bus ride to and fro Muar GH daily made me speechlessly worn out. Sigh. Pardon the haggard look if you see me around. Schedule is really tight for the coming weeks. 3 more weeks of Muar to tolerate with. :( Sigh again. As much as I'm sighing right now, am determined to make the best out of this.

So much of traveling and I just reached home from KL few hours ago. Was there to visit my bro and to shop with my parents. The sales are going on and we were all prepped up for a little Christmas splurge. Decided to go in the shades of red this year after purchasing a clutch with metal sling from Charles and Keith.

I was feeling all jolly when I heard the Christmas carols being played at the malls. The mood is back again after some time of hiatus. Alright, till the next update. Gotta be preparing for tomorrow's work.

Siti's Surprised Party

Our dear Siti turned twobigtwo last Saturday!! Sadly, all of us went homesweethome right after the exam. So to in order to make it up to her, we decided to surprise her with a birthday cake tonight! The initial plan was to throw the bash at Secret Recipe but the whole of group F2 had arranged to meet up and do some revision at the campus. We had to go according to the latter plan and tadaa!! That little girl was all astounded when we brought the cake right up to her. Siti's the girl who is of great importance to the group. Like a savior, she saved us from knotty and nasty questions from the lecturers. Without her, I guess we would have been screwed right to the edge. Here we are, trying to give her a memorable day and best of all wishes that she will remember always and forever. :)

Bits of Awesomeness

Received a call from Erin this morning to accompany her for the Chinese Highschool Canteen Day cuz she has sponsored coupons from her mother. The blazing sun was simply intolerable to us and hence only drinks and popiah we bought. Hurriedly we left.


She was craving for sushi and we had sushi for lunch! We had immense talk about traveling, in time to come. All the ideas about backpacking and couchsurf together. Winnie came to join us later on. Sigh, am absolutely eating too much recently which I think I ought to cut down my enormous appetite.

2012

It was a splendid night out with my lovely parents, godsis Eilyn and Jeslyn, godbro HonWee, soon-to-be-bro-in-low and aunt LingKiang. First time in history, we're watching a movie in the cinema together with my dad and mom coming along. Sis insisted that they should come! I mean, my parents did brought the family to watch movies when we were young. But they stopped accompanying us after we found our own friends to watch movies with. Everyone had been telling me how good 2012 was. True indeed, just as awesome as those people whom I enjoyed the evening with.

At the end of the movie, I was left flabbergasted and couldn't stop praising that this is a iwanttowatchitagain movie. Boy, it caught us all edgy yet many of its scenes are funny. Indubitably reminding me about the story of the Noah's Ark except that this is with a more sophisticated essence.

By the way, here's a little something which caught my attention before leaving the theatre and it has been playing repeatedly on my player. The closing theme song for 2012 by Adam Lambert. It's really nice.

Beloved Sister

Finally got to meet up with 언니 (pronounced as unni which means sister) after such a long while. It's hard to see her nowadays cuz she's either busy with work or studies. Though she's 4 years older than me, we shared our childhood almost together everyday. Being away from her doesn't drift our relationship further apart, instead we missed each other even more. It's always great to have her around cuz days get significantly livelier. And the crucial attempts from me bugging her to get married soon cuz I so wanna be her maid of honor!

We spent the morning together with mom. Then visited grandma at aunt's place and went passionately vain there. My aunt was so animated to help us take beautiful pictures, with her ingenious ideas about how to pose good for the camera. Love it.

A Note on Ophthalmology

As much as I hate to comprehend, the four weeks of Ophthalmology posting is again coming to an end. Time trickles hastily, you can't deny. It dreaded me quite a bit to attend clinics at start since I wasn't much into this subject. The 'EYE' has always been a loyal imaginary friend to me when I learned it from the theory point of view. As time passed, I taught to apply the theoretical version into various clinical pictures where I was given many opportunities to see the signs and symptoms for real. Somehow, skills improved and knowledge broadened slightly. Before I could fully get a grasp on all the pathologies, this posting is already coming to an end. Left me hanging nowhere in the middle in a sense that I know a bit of something but not thoroughly. The eye does not see what the mind does not know. How true when I could not spot a bleb on the conjunctiva simply because my brain stores only a memory of the word, 'BLEB' without it's true meaning being installed.

All I'd gotten from this posting is that God is truly amazing. He created an eyeball at the diameter of 24 mm and weighing 7 grams for us to view the world. Such a simple looking structure from its outer coat turns out to be a whole load of complexity on the inside.

More than just sores

The ulcers and sores are getting better. There are times when I just gotta support the idea of Chinese Medicine though the mechanism of action is vaguely known. It works superior to any of those drugs I learned in pharmacology. *thumbs up!*

While the pain in the oral cavity is improving, I caught a flu today and the feverish feeling has become a real fever with associated chills and rigors. I'm sick! Which is a rare thing from my side cuz I don't usually fall sick. Now I'm sneezing so frequently, almost every 10-15 minutes that I think my eyes are gonna pop out any time soon. Gotta be compliant to these flu tablets(Loratadine + Pseudoephedrine) and paracetamol.

I'm currently on the verge of insanity with exam stress superimposed with a sense of impending doom. It's end posting exam for ophthalmology tomorrow and I kid you not, after 4 weeks of posting, it's still hard to comment on the fundus properly. While I said 'The retina is showing some hard exudates', the specialist said, 'No, they are just drusens.' Sigh, and the worst thing that can happen is viewing a left eye with my own left eye. I go as blind as a bat, no joke. Sigh, seriously gotta make it through.
