Weekend for Foodie

I'm such a foodie, I think imma turn heartofserendipity into a food blog instead of a personal record.

WENDY's!! Bro saw the triple patty burger ad and convinced all of us to try Wendy's.
Big-mouthed-Alvin d:

Food Trip in Malacca

My besties were down in this historical town! We had an awesome foursome food trip, a chilled out catch up and some absurd discussion about shit. I do mean 'shit' as in feces and defecation. *points finger at Aikmunn and Chris*. That was how they became buddies in a less than a day. The thrill of seeing how the both of them gobbled down food effortlessly had never failed to amaze me and Meicher.

Aikmunn arrived earlier and we had the famous Taiwan beef noodles with pork chop for lunch. I brought him for a ride around town since we had some time spanned in between before Mei and Chris reached, we passed by a soya bean dessert shop and decided to go in for a try.
My share of soya beancurd with gingko and barley.
AM savoring his pudding and ordered an additional beancurd.

The couples arrived just in time for dinner. Starter for dinner was satay celup which I have almost gotten bore of.

'Shit' buddies, C and A.
My pretty lovababe. I like it when we meet up so often. (:
Getting greedy together.
And celup-celup together.

Next stop was Jonker St. The only time I'm willing to squeeze through the crowd is whenever my friends are in town. Otherwise, count me out.
Chris' must-have sushi cuz it's freaking cheap and good to taste
Cendol, ice-kacang, asam laksa and nyonya laksa. All of us got sweetened by the cendol at this instance cuz I asked for more gula melaka and the aunty just topped another big ladleful of it. @-@ but I was addicted to that sweetness.
With one of the men with huge stomach!
Not enough still, we bought muachi, fried carrot cake, fishballs, eggtarts, oh-jien and fishball noodles.
Mei and her eggtart.

We left Jonker just before midnight. Supposed to go for a little drink after that but we were all too tired and decided to return home for some rest. Mei bought a card game from Jonker. Remember the HAPPY FAMILY game we used to play during our childhood season? None of us remembered how to play, we created our own rules in the end.
The guys spotted the stock of korean noodles in my room and were complaining that they were hungry again. Like, what??!! They just had so much for dinner?? I cooked 2 packets of ramyun just before they would obediently go to bed.

Next morning, we woke up really late and missed our dimsum session. We had a heavy lunch instead. For example, bak kut teh!! My all time favorite!! (:

And finally, Nadeje for their famous mille crepe before calling an end to this meet up and fun.
Their monotone chocolate mousse is my addiction. An obssession for me whenever I'm there and if this gets regular, trust me, I'll become a pauper soon. Come what may, I'm missing these people so much already! Till the next time we meet, hopefully in Penang somewhere around October! ((:

Should I consider an extreme makeover?

This is an abso random post while I have 25 minutes left before going out. The awesome weekend I had was too lengthy to talk about now, so I'll do just a short post this time. It's basically about the 5 defective features on my face. Call me vain but the 'XX' species are forever conscious about beauty, don't we? Beauty knows no pain (according to the TVB drama airing currently). Still, I'll deffo chicken out albeit given the choice to go for an extreme makeover like plastic surgery for free. Maybe I should start mustering my courage, huh? Just kidding, it has never invaded my thought about any operative procedures. The boldest shot I can compromise is braces. Even this, I've been whining about the physical as well as mental pain it has brought to me. Some of you would have known or noticed the flaws. I'll show you what they are after the jump break. You may stop reading here itself cuz they are ugly, it seems. d:

1. Wide forehead
 2. Triple layered eyelid on the left eye, I have a pair of big-small eyes
3. Sparse eye-lashes
4. Aquiline + Nubian nose
5. Uneven, obtruded teeth + braces

Ok, it's time to leave the house. Buhbyeee!!

Hurdling through Pediatrics

While braving through the agonies of grappling a firm foundation about children, I hurdled certain odds. I have this habit of jotting down notes during clinics to keep myself awake and a record to help me remember things since I'm very forgetful. Today, I flipped through the little note book I carried around during Pediatrics posting and cracked a giggle in between the serious attempt of concentration. I was puzzled by my own handwriting for goodness sake. I couldn't recall a thing about writing 'crowns hotel' and 'chocolate cyst' under the heading of 'Vital signs'. I certainly must have fallen asleep during class and more than half of the notebook is filled with words I failed to fathom. Should that indirectly reflect the number of times I fell asleep during class? *shrugs* Perhaps? *winks* Or deffo?

No wonder I left that posting with zero knowledge. ): *triple sighs* That was bad.

Question is, do I take down notes to keep myself awake or keep myself awake to take down notes?

Malaysia International F&B Fair

I've heard a lot about the Malaysia International Food and Beverage Trade by MIFB. On Saturday, I attended this event with my family at PWTC and since none of us brought along a business card, we paid 10 bucks per head for the entrance. I should say, that was an enriching cum prolific experience to be there when it was after all my first time attending such a grand food expo. We tried on all sorts of local products from different countries, specifically those from Taiwan which I loved most! The donut booth was the best I'd seen.
Look how lovely they are! So cute, I'm going to die! Sadly, these are not edible. ): they gave us the donut sprinkled with icing sugar instead. Even if it was just that, I was so addicted to it, I kept returning to the booth to steal more donuts! This booth was actually promoting the machinery at the price of Rm5.5k. I kept pestering my parents to buy the donut maker so I can make my own donuts or for a better purpose, we can make profits out of it! I don't mind becoming a donut seller, seriously. *praying hard for a donut maker*
If you have watched the Mysteries of Love, you'll know why I take this picture. d:
Dad and bro queuing for the smoothie at only Rm2.50 per bowl. I was queuing at the line across them for the ice cream.
There!! My tiramisu ice cream!! (still the orgasmic donut rules) I don't know why Taiwanese make such good sweet stuff?? Sigh, I can't wait to visit that country.
There was a cooking demo by a famous chef (forgotten his name) and a quiz that followed suit. My kiasu momma raised her hand even before the chef finished his sentence. So the question was, what is the QBB ghee made from? Clever momma answered 'Cow!!'. The the subsequent question, 'What of a cow is it made from?' Momma went silent. She didn't know the answer. The crowd whispered to her, 'Milk.' and she answered, 'Milk!!'. She got it right. The chef asked again, 'Do you know where is it from?' Momma paused and stared blankly. The crowd replied, 'Australia!' and momma shouted 'Australia!!' That was how she got the prize. -___- I guess I'll have sugee biscuit stocked in my room soon, cuz she won a big tub of ghee and 2 other smaller tub of i-don't-know-what.
They bought all sorts of balls. Fish balls, squid balls etc etc.
They are all stuffed with otak-otak.
 Glorious cakes!!
At random, I realized I do not look like me anymore. T___T The shape of my face changes everyday due to the braces and I do not like it at all!! T_________T I miss the very chubby cheeks I used to hate before this. I think I look better with them but, too late to regret. I just can't wait to remove it.
Sweet corn!! The man who tendered this booth was laughing at the way I held the fan.
This big baby was acting cute when I turned the camera towards him. Like, what the heck??
