Food and food in Malacca

The boys and girls were here in Malacca for a short weekend escapade. Was bugging Erin to pay me a visit in Malacca and yes, she did it with a bunch of people, Eunice, Galvin and Zane. Vincent dropped by Malacca too for a while with his friend Loke Hui. So I actually made new friends this week. Met these people up at Jonker and we went for a peranakan meal at Bibik Neo, recommended by Loke Hui.

Erin . Vincent . LokeHui . Zane . Meme . Galvin . Eunice .
I'm so so so in love with polaroid cam now. Every picture is oh-so exclusively pretty! *sighs* Should I invest in an Instax instead of Canon EOD?
We met up with Mei, Chris and their friends who were here for a paintball tournament and headed to the Portuguesse Settlement for the best mango juice. I'd heard it for some time, but yeah, my first time tasting it. Really good!
Picture of Zane. He's the cute guy from Penang whom I thought was youger than us. Apparently I was wrong. He's one year older. He has a beautiful face like all of us claimed and speaks in the nicest accent of mandarin.
Vincent suggested to go for a drink before he left for home that night. So we decided on Geographer.
After Geographer, the guys were keen for satay celup. So our fourth stop was Capitol.
Ended the night with 'chor tai ti' and losing money as well cuz I was unlucky like that. And camwhoring with the photobooth cuz Erin was so much in love with my lame Face Drop video.
The next morning, we were supposed to wake for morning dim sum. But when we opened our eyes, it was 11.30am!! Ok. So no dim sum breakkie, but chicken rice ball.
Me love polaroid seriously. Imma save up for one. And I'm going to sell off my diginico! *sighs* I'm always wasting money for no reason. Totally regretted the lomo cam I bought.
Eunice's coursemate from UMS came all the way from Kota Tinggi. Agnes' her name.

We headed to Dataran Pahlawan to watch Chris plays the shooting game on a sunny afternoon. And I got shot on my back! See I always have high affinity for whatever balls. Pingpong ball, basketball, football, baseball, paintball, tennis ball and even a shuttlecock. Kid you not. I'd been hit by all these and always get teased! (get what I mean?)
Erin, you're gonna love me for taking this picture! Such a cross process photo!

Failed polaroids.
Before sending Zane to the bus station, we dropped by Jonker for cendol and laksa.
Just before dinner, we went for pork satay which is really yummy. All of us ate like 12 sticks? Haha. How not to get fat like this???!
Jonker before dinner.
We had the Nyonya food for dinner again. But this time at Ole Sayang. Don't ask me how I sustained a huge stomach. Erin and Galvin stayed back purposely for the club, so yeah, I brought them to Arena. 2 buckets for 3 seriously got me slight tipsy cuz Galv couldn't drink much and considering I'm not a good drinker.

When X and Y Meet...

... the obstetricians get business. The medical students suffer.

I'm all stressed up!!! Says whom O&G is easy? I'm struggling in this posting! Our dear lecturer had successfully made the whole group feel depressed since yesterday. I've never felt this incompetent in any of my posting though I did worked hard this time. *sigh* Guess I'm not cut out to be a obstetrician nor gynaecologist. Not my cup of tea, I proclaim. Maybe I'm still not used to accepting criticism. Or perhaps, our group is just numskull. But the criticisms of 'I'm disappointed with the group' and 'you will fail OnG college exam' made me and my friends guilty. We're not ready to fail the exams. That will be my greatest nightmare. *double sigh* This is freaking annoying. I'm tired of pregnant mothers and sick women.

Buddy's Party

Another post date entry which I was supposed to blog about more than a month ago, but has been delayed till now. =)

2010, March 26th.
Attended Weihao's birthday party at Bamboo Hut with Yipin when he came to Malacca.
I've forgotten the name of this dish but it tasted pretty good.
The birthday boy.
Birthday boy and girlfriend, Nicole. Effing sweet, no? (:
Yipin boy. He hates me calling him boy. XD
Bing and Weihao

That's all for this event. Others are pictures taken at random. =)

In the Light Dctalk

I keep trying to find a life of my own apart from you.
I'm the queen of excuses, I've got one for every selfish thing I do.
What's going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior.
This only search to confirm my suspicions.
I'm still a human in need of a savior.
The disease of self runs through my blood
A cancer fatal to my soul.
Every attempt on my behalf has failed.
To bring this sickness under control.
I want to be in the light, as you are in the light.
I want to shine like the stars in the heaven.
All I want is to be in the light.
Honesty becomes me, there's nothing left to lose.
The secrets that did run me, in your presence are defused.
Pride has no position, and riches have no worth.
The fame that once did cover me, has been sentenced to this earth.
There's no other place that I want to be.
No other place that I can see.
A place to be that's just right.
Someday I'm gonna be in the light, as you are in the light.
That's where I want to be, that's right where I need to be.

I'm a Mademoiselle

The parents came to visit today. Accompanied them to get some baking ingredients at town and then to the other shop located at Batu Berendam. Your brainy darling here actually led the wrong route from town to BB. I never knew my sense of direction was this horrid that we took 45 mins to reach the point of interest in a light traffic condition via the assistance of GPS in the end. *blushhhhhh*

Was telling my mom about Mademoiselle, a boutique I hopped in last weekend, located in the heart of Malacca (just opposite Nadeje). I was too broke a week ago, so I had to leave the shop empty handed. But I told the salesgirl 'I'll drop by again some time later.' Aha! True enough. I returned after a week and this time, I left the shop with 2 dresses and 345 bucks lesser. I absolutely love the many choices of clothes there since they had them imported from Korea and Hong Kong thought slightly pricey. It's cool, really. We had decided to have a splendid dinner at Sirocco. The parents wanted to try it since I mentioned the food there's pretty yummilicious. So poof!!! There goes my diet plan again!! :(

I came home, showered and received a call from Carol asking me to accompany her for dinner. Off I went to the town again. It was a good catch up with the dearest since the last time we had it. We were at Xuan Cafe, the good music that made the the night filled with cold nostalgia as we talked about some serious topics.

The day was just chilling but non productive cuz I was supposed to be studying! Crap. I've just wasted yet another day. Imma just screw O&G comes Monday or seriously, stay put at home tomorrow and be a nerd. I mean it. Since I'm in a hyped up mood today, I'm hyped up with the webcam too. So just in case you've forgotten how I look like, here are some lame captures of me of me after shower in pajamas! I like the last picture the most!! *wheeee* :p Good night sayangs. Me love you!

Do I Live Contradictorily?

After leaving Friendster for more than a year, I had remembered to log in again today and was going through the comments posted on my wall, like ages ago. That wall plastered with 'The Mosquitos' faces, was filled with some 652 comments by which I'd deleted a big portion from the bulk of mostly spams, wishes and greetings. I'd kept only a few meaningful ones behinds. Those filled with encouragements, testimonials and some posted by people whom I treasure. I logged out with a twinge of conscience. I knew then how much my character had changed over time. It wasn't intentional, but people do change, don't they? For better or for worse. It's all personal, I know myself more than anyone else does.

There were times when I was subjected to self doubt. I'm pretty much a negative minded girl. Simple example. Friends would come with comments such as this.
Seriously, I'm weird like this. I voice out displeasing understanding towards every statement which contradicts to what I have in discernment. I'm sorry if I'd breached your kindness or sweetness. It was unintended. I'm just so. But I do appreciate the lovely comments given.

If I'm a changed person, the first attitude which I would have noted a change from the appraisal given was being mild tempered. I don't reckon myself to be at all without temper. I can be petulance when I get really annoyed, nevertheless with attempts to suppress the anger and frustration so that I don't flare a tone and scare a friend away. Of recent, I've been really bad at curbing this short tempered behaviour of mine. At some instances, I had indirectly erupted a frustration or argument with people whom I'm close to. Emo, they called it. Sincerest apology to those whom I'd done so. You know who you are. I know it was hard tolerating my fluctuations.

The many comments I received for being friendly, I guess I'm not so now. Pretty much an asocial creature hibernating in my own comfort zone. I used to love making new friends, but I realized it's better to keep an established friendship by my side than to readapt to new ones. I just lost the interest in rebuilding a friendship and taking the effort to understand someone all over again. I'm comfortable with the people around me and they are awesome! They stood by me all along. I don't need more as such. No pun intended to be sarcastic nor arrogant, but yeah, I'm still in a recuperating stage. So pardon me for being apathetic.

I don't deny how my walk in C had backslided quite a bit as compared to the strong faith I had more than half a decade ago. I was living in that little bubble where I was tightly enclosed by a bunch of cool C friends. I lived within a circle of friends who embrace the same religion as I do. For everywhere I went, I had them as a support. If you were to look through my comments, you're going to realize the amount of people who left at least a phrase that has gotta do with me being a C. I was at much comfort during that time receiving such encouragements. Things started changing when I was exposed to a community where majority of the people I was with are non believers. It wasn't at all an easy task to keep myself on track. The fact is, I find it easier to institute a mutual communication with the latter community. I don't see myself living as a hypocrite in order to please others. In other words, the statements quoted by my friends weren't exactly true when I don't think I lived in par with what they thought I was. Had I known such dilemma would arise, I could have defended myself even more.

I no longer enjoy the pressure coming from various directions I tried succumbing to. I'm no saint. But am truly thankful for really awesome parents who understood my position and they stood up on my behalf. It's not an easy task to bring on a mask everywhere you go, trying to be as perfect as how a C should be. Oh, but I'm really tired living in such a manner when everyone put a high expectation on me. I know they have my interest at heart but those care are varying from my likings. I was glad to have a beloved sister who understood the hurdles I'm trying to pull through.

I'm still learning. My characters are still developing before they get stabilized. So does my mood. I'm still searching for a place where I belong. I've gotta know me more. Someday when my faith starts rebuilding, hopefully I'll be the perfect girl everyone appraised. I'm still far from that point, discombobulated in my very own manner.

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me

I'm more than a bird...I'm more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It's not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I'll never see

It may sound absurd...but don't be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed...but won't you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream
It's not easy to be me
